Our Board And Staff

New York City Soil & Water Conservation District is governed by a 9-member board of directors, who are political appointees. Each of the five Borough Presidents make a recommendation for a borough representative, who is appointed by the Mayor. Two other Mayoral appointees are the Commissioners of the NYC Department of Environmental Protection and NYC Parks. The New York City Council appoints two members.

Staff manages the day-to-day operation as well as the development and implementation of the District's programs.
